With more than 40 years of experience in independent schools, Shar is a trusted guide for families beginning their educational journey. Her expertise in early childhood development, combined with her calm and caring presence, has made her a cornerstone of The Country School’s preschool program.

MATT MELNICK

Assistant Head of Academics and Student Wellness

A dedicated academic leader, Matt ensures that The Country School delivers a program that challenges, engages, and nurtures every student. His leadership extends from overseeing curriculum to teaching the 8th grade “Preparing for High School” course, where he helps students step confidently into their next chapter.

A proud TCS alum and legacy member of the community, Amy carries forward the values and traditions that make the school unique. As the daughter of a beloved TCS teacher of 37 years, she has a lifelong connection to the school and a deep understanding of its mission and heart.
