Our third Genius Hour session featured TCS parent Gary Lundy, a decorated film-industry professional whose work spans both acting and screenwriting. - Click to ReadRead More

His credits include a role as Sean Smith in the cult-classic Donnie Darko (2001), and as Max in the independent comedy Burning Annie (2004). He also appeared in films such as Senior Skip Day (2008) and The Legend of Awesomest Maximus (2011). On the writing side, Gary wrote the screenplay for A Happening of Monumental Proportions (2017).

During the session, Gary led hands-on conversations with students — walking them through the real process of screenwriting and storytelling: how to develop characters, shape dialogue, build dramatic tension, and structure a story for film. He emphasized practical craft and shared stories from his own career: from auditioning and acting to writing a script for production.

To wrap up the session, he treated students to a unique outdoor tutorial: as owner of the independent coffee shop My Friend’s Coffee, Gary demonstrated the art and process of roasting coffee — showing that creative work doesn’t only live on screen, but can grow into hands-on community and everyday passion as well.

GIVE NOW:

Annual Fund 2025-2026

Thank You for an Incredible Giving Tuesday!

We are deeply grateful to every family, past parent, trustee, faculty member, and friend who contributed and pledged to The Country School’s Giving Tuesday campaign. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $12,000 in a single week, directly strengthening the programs, people, and experiences that make TCS such a special place for our students.

Your support fuels everything we do—from innovative classroom learning to the arts, athletics, enrichment education, and the everyday moments that help our children feel seen, supported, and inspired.

If you haven’t had a chance to make your annual fund gift yet, there’s still time. Every contribution, at every level, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and helps TCS continue to thrive.

Thank you for showing up for our community—and for helping us build an even brighter year ahead.

What Are TCS Party Books?

What could be classified as a Party Book is wide-ranging. These are events/gatherings - shows, parties, outings, eating, drinking, shopping, playing, workouts, and more. Big or small - they are funded through Parent and Community philanthropy and designed to raise money for TCS’ institutional needs.

  • Primary Purpose - Fundraising – All proceeds raised go back to TCS and support school-wide initiatives. The goal of the PA is to direct funds raised toward a large, end-of-year donation to the school.

  • Secondary Purpose - Community Building & Inclusive Fun – These parties are great ways to come together as a community and to connect outside of school.

  • Volunteer-Hosted & Funded – TCS parents/guardians sponsor and host the parties, covering the costs through their generosity so that every ticket purchased goes directly back to TCS.
